Zinc Arts

Zinc Arts works to unite and include vulnerable, disadvantaged and disabled people using creative learning. Over the last twenty five years we have been working with people who have been excluded from opportunities to ensure they have the same opportunities, choice and control in their lives as the rest of society. Our work is different because we use the arts to engage with participants. We provide them with the chance to explore a rich and varied cultural life whilst addressing the enormous barriers and problems that they face on a daily basis. Our aim is always to ensure participants have the support, advice and skills to lead independent lives as active members of their communities. Our work encourages development of new skills, increase in confidence and self-esteem, communication, it allows people to explore and gain new aspirations, aim high and achieve their full potential.

Through this project, Zinc Arts will address the lack of provision of high quality music activity, facilitation and positive role models in Essex for young people with disabilities, profound, multiple and complex disabilities or learning disability. We will be fully engaging with and taking account of young people’s musical choices, ambitions and access needs, to deliver a sustainable model of exemplary practice.
